The name Avalanche Construction & Woodworks reflects the foundation our company was built on. Before founding ACW, Matt Hyatt earned his Red Seal in Joinery and began his career in a custom architectural millwork shop in Richmond, where he developed a deep appreciation for precision, material selection, and the level of craftsmanship required to produce exceptional architectural millwork.

He later earned his Red Seal in Carpentry while working on high-end custom homes with one of Vancouver's premier residential builders. From framing and structural construction through to the final stages of finish carpentry, he gained firsthand experience in every phase of building luxury homes, developing an understanding of how every trade, every detail, and every finish must come together to create an exceptional result.

The Art of Finish Carpentry

Today, that foundation influences how every carpenter at ACW approaches their work. Our team includes highly skilled carpenters with extensive experience in both structural and finish carpentry, bringing the precision and attention to detail needed to execute everything from perfectly scribed trim and custom wall paneling to architectural doors, stair details, and seamless finish work.
